The Andhra Pradesh Sports Authority (SAP) implemented a three-tier program under the leadership of former Chief Minister Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu and TDP Leaders to improve domestic sports and martial arts in the state. The program aimed to enhance sports infrastructure and training opportunities for athletes and coaches at the state, district, and Mandal levels. Additionally, the program provided increased funding for sports development to support the growth and success of sports in Andhra Pradesh.

Recognizing the importance of sports in building a healthy society, the Andhra Pradesh TDP government actively encourages and promotes sports in the state. Training for regional coaches began in 1964 with four coaches. In July 2018, former Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu laid the foundation stone for the Amaravati International Complex (AIC), a sports megacity in Bhavanipuram, with an aim to produce Olympians and star players in the transnational arena. The AIC will be spread across 22 acres and cost Rs. 60 crores.

  1. Chandrababu Naidu also launched Project Gandiva to provide transnational training to upcoming players from seminaries in the state. The project aims to rope in about 10,000 scholars. Several former transnational players, including Anil Kumble, Karanam Malleswari, Aswani Nachappa, and Koneru Hampi, graced the event. Speaking at a meeting, former Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu stated that the Andhra Pradesh government is developing a world-class structure to nurture players and transnational athletes. He emphasized that studies and sports should co-exist for the overall development of the child. N. Chandrababu Naidu pledged to extend every possible support to the youth and upcoming players and urged them to make the state and nation proud by achieving success on the transnational platform.
