We invite you to join in a a course in miracles discussion group following the book study time frame. These groups are social structures long standing at Unity of the Triangle and many continue year round outside of book study times.

"A Course in Miracles" is a unique self-study metaphysical thought system. This app contains the "Text" section of the Course along with the "Workbook for Students" exercises.
Lessons 1-5

The ACIM app is a companion to the "Text" section of A Course in Miracles, a unique self-study metaphysical thought system that emphasizes forgiveness as the key to inner peace and remembrance of God. The Text is not a book, but a series of lessons that are meant to help you understand and apply the Workbook exercises.

The text was received over a period of seven years by Helen Schucman and Costs Thetford, 2 highly trained psychologists who worked together to document in shorthand what they believed they were hearing internally. They then typed the results and published them in 1975. Unity has a number of small groups that meet year round outside of the book study time frame. These groups are a wonderful place to study ACIM.
Lesson 6

Join us for a 5-week group study of A Course in Miracles and Unity. Groups meet 1-2 times a week to discuss the book and pray together.

The book was written by Helen Schucman and Costs Thetford, 2 highly educated psychologists. Helen scribbled down the internal messages she received while Bill typed them. It took them seven years to complete the Course, which was published in 1976.

The Course uses Christian terminology, but it is not a religion. It is a metaphysical thought system that offers the opposite of what Christianity is commonly taught. It also gives a different meaning to common Christian terms. Changes in perception, mind, and beliefs – from the ego’s story to reality – are what the Course calls a Miracle. These are not the same as the physical world’s miracles. Rather, they are the demonstration that we have reached reality contact at all levels.
Lesson 7

The word miracle means a change of perception, mind and belief from the ego’s story about reality to the truth. The Course describes miracles as the result of right thinking which allows strong and clear contact with reality at all levels, including within us and between people.

The Course was written by Helen Schucman and Bill Thetford, 2 highly trained Professors of Psychology at Columbia University. Helen was the scribe and documented in shorthand what she experienced as internal messages, while Bill typed what she wrote. It took them seven years to complete A Course in Miracles.

ACIM is a self-study metaphysical thought system comprised of 3 parts: the "Text", the "Workbook for Students" and the "Manual for Teachers". Lessons from the "Text" form the theoretical framework which clarifies the meaning of the lessons from the "Workbook". Lessons from the "Workbook" are experiential and require the reader to be willing to apply what is taught.
Lesson 8

Unlike other spiritual and self-help books, A Course in Miracles is not about changing the outside world. It is a book about changing our perceptions, beliefs, and thoughts. It teaches us that miracles are simply a change in our perception and belief about reality, not some magical trick that is happening in the world around us.

The Course was written over seven years by Helen Schucman and Bill Thetford, two highly trained psychologists. Helen was the scribe and wrote down in shorthand the internal messages she received. She later typed them into the ACIM Workbook, while Bill made additional pamphlets. The Course is a metaphysical thought system published in three separate sections, the "Text", the "Workbook for Students", and the "Manual for Teachers". It has been translated into 18 languages and continues to expand worldwide. It has a large following of people who collect with others in small groups to study the lessons.
Lesson 9

If you're a student of A Course in Miracles, chances are you've heard about miracles. But what exactly are they? In the Course, a miracle is simply a change in perception, belief, and thought. It is moving away from the ego's story about reality and coming to see it as it really is.

It teaches the opposite of the common understanding of Christianity and is a spiritual and psychological path, not a religion. Moreover, it calls the name of Jesus Christ a symbol and states that the true nature of God is love that is beyond this world.

The Course is a metaphysical thought system with three publications: the Text, the Workbook for Students and also the Manual for Teachers. Its message is based on the practice of forgiveness. The Course is not a religion but teaches forgiveness as the key to peace and remembrance of God.

The course is not about changing events in the world, but rather changing our perceptions and beliefs. A change of mind and belief from the ego story to the truth is what the Course calls a Miracle. This is what the Course wants to do for everyone. It does this through a process that is called ACIM.
